There’s nothing quite like building, especially when you know that it’s going to be a really neat robot! On November 21st, the members of Phoenix Robotics #6554 began training to utilize the various new tools that will help build their next robot! The collection of tools was very expansive, and safe, thanks to the wonderful sponsors and mentors of the team!
Students learned to safely operate tools such as miter, band, and circular saws (which has become something of a favorite), as well as grinders, several hand tools, such as the drill, and finally, how to solder and, use shrink tubes. Wood was generously provided for use as a template for many of the tools. It was an excellent hands-on experience for the team, and hopefully, they are inspired to take up the mantle of team fabricators! We are very excited to see what will happen in the future with many having attended that course!
